lost deposit 2008/07/02 04:45
Today I did a banking and noticed it did not show on the transaction register, but I can see it as being paid off in the customer outstanding invoices? I am wondering why its not showing up, I did a adjustment to reverse it to test if it would work, and also tried unmatching all transactions, yet it has added to the balance on the bank balance, but will not appear anywhere? any advice please.

We had a similar problem in my companies payroll department. A few of our outside contractors submitted invoices to us, and they were misplaced. We were unable to process them a payroll check until we located the missing invoices. After this happened with restructured the process we use for submitting invoices to our payroll department.
Where can I find more information about the various online payroll options available to small businesses?

That is unacceptable and since the bank is FDIC insured they need to make good on the sum that you have a receipt for. And fire the incompetent teller. also report them to the better business bureau.

Good luck!

Probably wise to get proper advice (ie paid for/based on a full knowledge of your circumstances) from a tax adviser or good accountant. The fact you are only now trying to claim a 'loss' incurred in 2007 might raise a few eyebrows....!
